Christian living in the light. Tonight our Shabbat Torah Reading: Deut 11:26-16:17 and Is 54:11-55:5. A Christian rejoices in the sure mercies of David. The blood of the covenant, Passover Lamb is who Yeshua is. He is the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. The call is out and for the Christian who has heard this call, it means salvation. The Lord God calls to one and all “incline your ear, come to me, hear, and your soul shall live.” The Christian has responded to that call. He walks in faith and testimony of Jesus Christ and keeps the commandments of God according to Jesus Christ’s own words in John 15 for example.
Christian living must be in the light. John says of Jesus Christ “In him was life and that life was the light of men.” It is to this end we live. To be in his light so that his life will be in us.
Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the LORD thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee.(Isa 55:5)
Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David. (Isa 55:3)
Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people.(Isa 55:4)
