Torah-01-22-11-Living in the Commandments
“The Fear of the L-rd, the people of G-d, and living for the L-rd in these days”
We find Moses and Israel at the “mount of G-d”. Here the L-rd begins to teach them the ‘fear of the L-rd, keeping his commandments, and preparing for a life of walking with him in favor’. We see the absolute fearsome terror of G-d in appearance where the “mount seems as on fire, smoke everywhere, and a voice as a Trumpet sounding.” The people are so afraid, they withdraw and ask Moses to talk to them on the issues G-d wants them to know. They do not want to come near to it again. Moses tells them that the L-rd appeared to bring this Fear, to let them understand the “fear of the L-rd.”
We also find many things here where the believer today comes in. From the present blessing of being able to approach G-d’s throne in Jesus name to the many things we do today as believers, both that offend and things that bless. We discuss many issues here that Israel and Moses can teach us. In all this we see the mighty hand of G-d throughout all generations to bring man who is lost near to him. Through all this, the beginning of wisdom is the “fear of the L-rd.”
Watchman Torah, read by the Watchman Dana G Smith with the Holy Spirit, Ruach Chodesh giving insight as it is read. This follows the initial Torah reading for all believers who read and acknowledge Torah as a part of their life in Yeshua.
The Mount of G-d
Exodus 18:5 And Jethro, Moses’ father in law, came with his sons and his wife unto Moses into the wilderness, where he encamped at the mount of G-d:
Exodus 19:1 ¶In the third month, when the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they into the wilderness of Sinai.
2 For they were departed from Rephidim, and were come to the desert of Sinai, and had pitched in the wilderness; and there Israel camped before the mount.
3 And Moses went up unto G-d, and the L-RD called unto him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel;
4 Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles’ wings, and brought you unto myself.
5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:
