“Rosh Hoshanah”
We talked about the coming fall feasts, and covered in depth the first feast called Rosh Hoshanah.
Note we have some resources on www.wingswatchman.org on the feasts. Video’s, articles, and info on other sites to the Feasts. Go to www.wingswatchman.org for this info.
Below is information from Jerry Golden on this Feast and God’s Holidays
This is for those who would like to observe God’s Holidays. This has absolutely nothing to do with the Law; this has everything to do with the Holidays God has given us to be observed. It is not complete, and if I tried to make it complete it would be more than most would want to read. So I do hope it wets your appetite. The Hebrew word Rosh means “head” or “Beginning” Ha means “the” and Shannah means “year”. It’s only used once in the Tenach “Old Testament” Ezekiel 40:1 says, “in the beginning of the year” in the Hebrew it says Rosh Ha Shannah. The more common Biblical name is “Feast of Trumpets.” Lev.23:23-25 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, In the seventh month in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation. Ye shall do no servile work therein: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord.
Rosh Hashannah is considered the Jewish New Year, but it comes on the seventh month on the first day. In the Jewish world it is considered the birthday of the world. If you count from the first day of Elul (the 6th month) until the 1st day of Tishri (7th month) which is Rosh Ha Shannah you will have counted 30 days. Known as the 30 days of preparation ending with Yom Teruah, Yom in Hebrew is “day” Teruah means “Trumpets” so it’s the day of sounding the trumpets, or known today as Rosh Ha Shannah.

The Feast of Rosh Hashanah or the Feast of Trumpets!
Prophetic:
” Creation of world First Resurrection, Return of Christ, Regathering of Israel “
“For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh; but he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision
is that of the heart, in the Spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not from men but from God” (Romans 2:28–29).
“For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation. And as many as walk according to this rule, peace and mercy be upon them,
and upon the Israel of God” (Galatians 6:15–16).
Jewish History on Rosh Hashana
This is for your background information. As believers, and followers of Jesus Christ, Yeshua, we are looking towards his coming. The fall feasts beginning with Rosh Hoshana, then Yom kippur, and finally with Tabernacles look forward to the coming
of the Lord. Yeshua fulfilled for us, redemption and deliverance sought by the feast of Yom Kippur, yet as believers we can seek the LORD, examine our hearts, and follow the path of the LORD. In Rosh Hoshana, the believer can look to the coming year
and dedicate it and themselves to the LORD, seeking his blessings for the coming year. Finally in Tabernacles we look forward to the time the LORD sets up his reign on earth and Tabernacles in Jerusalem. It is then that every year all nations are to come
to Jerusalem for Tabernacles [see Zech 14:16]
Rosh Hashanah is a Jewish festival in which most work ceases, just as on the weekly Sabbath. It’s celebrated both in joy and solemnity. During the daily prayer service a ram’s horn, or in the Hebrew, shofar, (see The Shofar) is sounded:
New Year’s Day, commemorates the creation of the world. The blowing of the ram’s horn reminds Jews of Abraham’s sacrifice of a ram in place of his son. This festival begins ten days of repentance and self-examination (”Yamim Hanoraim” - the days of awe) during which God sits in judgment on each individual. Apples and pastry dipped in honey are eaten in the hope of a ’sweet’ year. During the ten days of awe, some orthodox Jews sacrifice chickens who are supposed to take on themselves the sins of the people. According to tradition, during this time, the names of the righteous are inscribed in the book of life, while those who have not repented are recorded for doom. The books are sealed are the holidays by tradition, making the judgment irrevocable. The traditional greeting for Rosh Hashana is “leshana tova tikhatevu vetichatemu” - may you be registered and sealed for a good year. During the days of awe, the traditional greeting used by most observant Jews is gmar chatima tova - may you finish with a good seal.. [September]
“And The Lord [see Rock Of Ages] said to Moses, “Say to the people of Israel, In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall observe a day of solemn rest, a memorial proclaimed with blast of trumpets, a holy convocation. You shall do no laborious work; and you shall present an offering by fire to The Lord.” (Leviticus 23:23-25 RSV)
“And in the seventh month, on the first day of the month,
ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work:
it is a day of blowing the trumpets unto you.”

In the Christian world, Rosh Hashanah is known as The Feast Of Trumpets. Many Christians observe this festival for its Christian prophetic application - the Return Of Jesus Christ.
“Lo! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. For this perishable nature must put on the imperishable, and this mortal nature must put on immortality.” (1 Corinthians 15:51-53 RSV) (see The Last Day)
“For this we declare to you by the word of The Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of The Lord, shall not precede those who have fallen asleep. For The Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the archangel’s call, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first; then we who are alive, who are left, shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet The Lord in the air” (1 Thessalonians 4:15-17 RSV) (see also The Return Of Jesus Christ)
Yom Kippur or The Day of Atonement pictures the banishment of Satan, and man’s becoming “at one” with God (Leviticus 16:8, 10, 15-27; Revelation 20:1-3).
The Feast of Tabernacles pictures the soon-coming wonderful world under the government of Jesus Christ and His saints (Zechariah 14; Matthew 9:37-38; 13:1-30; Luke 12:32; John 7:6-14; Acts 17:31; Revelation 12:9; 20:4-6).
