How does one become hated, despised, persecuted of both righteousness and Jesus’ sake?

Seek God, do his will, let the graces be revealed in your life, doing as he says.

The world will hate you for being like Jesus, loving like Jesus, and be willing to do all he says to, in spite of their hatred and vehemence towards you!

The documented evidence by first hand witnesses of the Son of God, Jesus Christ, and the fulfillment of “The Kingdom” of God, which God had purposed to bring into being on this earth!

The Gospels written, documented both the fulfilment of our God to the Jewish prophets and law, and brought home the universality of Gods plan. It was to be kingdom, of those who believed in the Messiah, the Son of God, Jesus Christ, Yeshua Ha Massiach., both Jew and Gentile, male and female, in one, in Christ!

In the Gospels, specifically, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, there is 307 hits for the phrase ‘the kingdom’ in 107 verses!

The Gospels overview:

Matthew: written ad 50-75
The God, Savior of Men, fulfilling the Jewish law, prophets

Aim of Gospel is to present Jesus as the Messiah, the Son of David, and to elaborate this truth in such a way that it would aid the Christians in their controversies with the Jews.

Matthew shows how Jesus fulfilled Old testament prophecy, and how the law is filled with new meaning and supplemented in the person, words, and work of Christ. He also points out that Israel’s rejection of Christ is in accordance with prophecy.

Mark: written ad 65-70
The God, Savior, who is truly the Son of God, for all to believe in and follow in discipleship and rejection as their master Jesus had done!

Associate Peter and a companion of Paul and Barnabas. In A.D. 64 Nero accused the Christian community of setting the city of Rome on fire and immediately proceeded to bring a terrible persecution upon the church. In this both Paul and Peter were martyred along with many others. This was one of the harshest persecutions of the early church to date, and is still looked upon as one of the worse.

In the midst of the persecution, the ‘evangelist Mark’, wrote the good news, i.e. his gospel. Many see the fact of his work as a way to get his readers encouragement and strength from the life and example of Jesus.

At the heart of this was the fact that the “Son of Man ust suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders, chief priests, and scribes, be killed, and after three days rise again.” 8:31.

Mark is the gospel of Action, moving from one scene to another. It literally depicts that the life of discipleship means following Jesus along the same path of misunderstanding and rejection that he suffered.

Luke: written ad 59-75
The God, Savior of all Men, everywhere in the world, whoever would believe and follow

An orderly account of all that Jesus began to do and to teach. Luke presents Jesus not only as a Jewish Messiah, but as a World savior. “A light to the Gentiles” 2:32; Luke does present the Jewish roots of Jesus, as he alone records the circumcision of and dedication of Jesus. 2:21-24.
He does omit much material that is strictly Jewish in character, he omits Jesus condemnation upon scribes and pharisees found in Mtt 23; omits discussion on jewish tradition Mtt 15:1-20 etc.
While Matthew traces Jesus’ ancestry back to Abraham, Luke follows it back to Adam, connecting him to the entire human race.

John: written around ad 85
Jesus, the only begotten Son of God, creator of the world, who is God, who became flesh, and died for the sins of man!

John wrote to the Christians of the province of Asia, now Asia minor, to present the fuller understanding of the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. Evidence that demanded a response, but also put those who did believe on a course to be ‘settled in their faith’, knowing they would have ‘life in his name’ 20:31. Know God by believing in Jesus Christ

The Kingdom of Heaven, The Kingdom of God:

The Pre Entrance Exam!
In the context of entering the Kingdom of Heaven, Kingdom of God, Jesus in Matthew, Mark, and Luke, set the example of Jesus and the ‘little children’. Suffer them, allow them to come to me, Jesus said, forbid them not, for of such is the Kingdom of God.
To enter, as a child, childlike trust, faith, and believe. Love as a child for their Father.

Luke 18:16  But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
Luke 18:17  Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.

It is this ‘entering as a Child’ that leads up to the discussion and statements made by Jesus that:
-it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
-how hardly they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God
-how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!

Mark 10:24  And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!

Mark 10:25  It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

Matthew 19:23  ¶Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 19:24  And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

Luke 18:24  And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!

Luke 18:25  For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

Was he saying that no one rich would enter in the kingdom of God? No!
He was saying that those who are rich have barns, houses, money, fame, fortune, and have build their own kingdoms on earth. Many who have done this, cannot find the kingdom of God, because it is ‘spiritually discerned’. It is a kingdom that is to come and requires us to access the kingdom by faith, repentance, and obedience. People who have their own riches and kingdom, find it hard to stop trusting in their riches long enough to find a true relationship with God.

That is, unless your in America. This is the place where we can have it all, money, fame, riches, and God as well!
That is what is taught and followed in many churches today!

The fact is, the kingdom is accessed through a faith that is obedient to and follows our Lords example. It is a kingdom where, to inherit it, costs us everything, just as it cost our Lord everything to bring it to us. It cost him ridicule, hate, being despised, and finally mocked in his crucifixion!
It is easy to put in America and the church in the following verses.

Luke 6:24  But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.
25  Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.
26  Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.

But it follows what is called the ‘Sermon on the plain’

found in Luke, it is another time when Jesus gave teachings, as he did on the ‘Sermon on the mount’. The context, therefore, was to tell the people that in life, we see success as being rich, having plenty to eat, being happy, and having people speak well of you. The ‘Kingdom of God’, that Jesus was bringing in was opposite to all this. It was opposite of many of the teachings the Jews were following!
The Kingdom of Heaven, The Kingdom of God:
Entrance through Repentance!

Kingdom:
basileia, kingdom of God, royal power, kingship, dominion, rule. Used in N.T. to refer to the reign of the Messiah.

Of God:
theos, in the polytheism of the Greeks, it denoted a god of deity [Acts 14:11; 19:26;28:6]
It was appropriated by the Jews and retrained by Christians to denote the “one true God.”
In the Septuagint, theos, translates [with a few exceptions], the Hebrew words, Elohim and Jehovah, indicating His power and preeminence, unoriginated, immutable, eternal, and self existence.
Psalm 22:28 For the kingdom is the LORD’S: and he is the governor among the nations
Psalm 145:13 Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and thy dominion endureth throughout all generations.
Rev 11:15-18
And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. 16 And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God, 17 Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned. 18 And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth?d

Repent
1 to change one’s mind, i.e. to repent. 2 to change one’s mind for better, heartily to amend with abhorrence of one’s past sins

believe
1 to think to be true, to be persuaded of, to credit, place confidence in. 1a of the thing believed. 1a1 to credit, have confidence. 1b in a moral or religious reference. 1b1 used in the NT of the conviction and trust to which a man is impelled by a certain inner and higher prerogative and law of soul. 1b2 to trust in Jesus or God as able to aid either in obtaining or in doing something: saving faith. 1bc mere acknowledgment of some fact or event: intellectual faith. 2 to entrust a thing to one, i.e. his fidelity. 2a to be intrusted with a thing.

[this word believe is from another word 4102, pistis,

conviction of the truth of anything, belief; in the NT of a conviction or belief respecting man?s relationship to God and divine things, generally with the included idea of trust and holy fervour born of faith and joined with it. 1a relating to God. 1a1 the conviction that God exists and is the creator and ruler of all things, the provider and bestower of eternal salvation through Christ. 1b relating to Christ. 1b1 a strong and welcome conviction or belief that Jesus is the Messiah, through whom we obtain eternal salvation in the kingdom of God. 1c the religious beliefs of Christians. 1d belief with the predominate idea of trust (or confidence) whether in God or in Christ, springing from faith in the same. 2 fidelity, faithfulness. 2a the character of one who can be relied on.]

be born
to beget, It is used metaphorically (a) in the writings of the apostle John, of the gracious act of God in conferring upon those who believe the nature and disposition of “children,” imparting to them spiritual life
[be born, beget, from genos, meaning offspring, kindred]

again
anothen; from above, from a higher place. 1a of things which come from heaven or God. 2 from the first, from the beginning, from the very first. 3 anew, over again.

of water
hudor, natural element, water,

The word “water” is used symbolically in John 3:5, either (1) of the Word of God, as in 1 Pet. 1:23 (cf. the symbolic use in Eph. 5:26), or, in view of the preposition ek, “out of,” (2) of the truth conveyed by baptism, this being the expression, not the medium, the symbol, not the cause, of the believer’s identification with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection. So the New Birth is, in one sense, the setting aside of all that the believer was according to the flesh, for it is evident that there must be an entirely new beginning!
1 Peter 1:23  Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

Ephesians 5:26  That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
27  That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

Some regard the kai, “and,” in John 3:5, as epexegetic, = “even,” in which case the “water” would be emblematic of the Spirit, as in John 7:38
and
of the Spirit
pneuma; spirit, Holy Ghost, Spirit of God, Spirit of the Lord, the spiritual nature of Christ, higher than the highest angels and equal to God, the divine nature of Christ. 4 of God the third person of the trinity. [from pneo, 4151, to breathe, to blow, of the wind]

John 7:38  He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
39  (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

Matthew 3:2  And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Matthew 4:17  From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Mark 1:14  ¶Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,

Mark 1:15  And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

Luke 1:33  And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

Luke 4:43  And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.

John 3:3  Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

John 3:5  Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

John 18:36  Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

The Kingdom of Heaven, The Kingdom of God:

Teachings, warnings, and Examples!

The Sermon on the Plain, where after a night in prayer alone to God, he gathered on the plains with his disciples and the multitudes surrounded him!
-people wanted to be healed
-people vexed with unclean spirits were healed
-people sought to touch him, virtue went out of him
-He healed them

Luke 6:12
¶And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.

Luke 6:13
And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles;

Luke 6:14
Simon, (whom he also named Peter,) and Andrew his brother, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew,

Luke 6:15
Matthew and Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon called Zelotes,
Luke 6:16
And Judas the brother of James, and Judas Iscariot, which also was the traitor.

Luke 6:17
And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judaea and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, which came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases;

Luke 6:18
And they that were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed.

Luke 6:19
And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.

Yours is the Kingdom of God!

Sermon on the Plain, Beattitudes
Beattitudes:from the latin beatus, meaning blessed or happy
Religion: strong belief in a supernatural power or powers that control human destiny

“a religion is a system of human thought which usually includes a set of narratives, symbols, beliefs and practices that give meaning to the practitioner’s experiences of life through reference to a higher power, deity or deities, or ultimate truth.” [Clifford Geertz (Religion as a Cultural System, 1973), Clifford James Geertz was an American anthropologist and served until his death as professor emeritus at the Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton, New Jersey.]

-Blessed or happy are you poor
-Blessed or happy are you that hunger now, ye shall be filled
-Blessed or happy are you that weep now, ye shall laugh
-Blessed or happy are you when you endure all this for the Son of mans sake, being poor, hunger, weeping, and become hated, separated from people, reproached, your name is evil, all for the Son of mans sake,
-Then are you to rejoice, leap for joy, your reward in heaven is great, for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.

No, this was not a treatise saying all poor, hungry, weeping people automatically are inducted into this kingdom. This was a treatise saying that if you endure these things for the Lord, and face these things, your reward would be great.

The hungry would not be immediately fed, the poor would not automatically be rich, those who are sad and weep would not just burst into laughter, but they in this lifetime could find riches in the presence of the Holy Ghost and as the LORD filled them with love, joy, peace, gentleness, goodness, faith, kindness, patience, and longsuffering!

Luke 6:20
¶And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.
Luke 6:21
Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.

Luke 6:22
Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake.

Luke 6:23
Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.

Now this is where this is put into the mix in his teachings!
In this lifetime, having ignored the LORD, not followed him, but kept religious traditions as the Jews did, thinking it was enough, or maybe your in this life and not religious, yet you are:
rich, this is your reward
full, this is your reward
good reputation, this is your reward
The teaching is the temporary nature of life and the miscalculations men make. Thinking to be rich, full, happy, and enjoy life is what it is about. That is not true.

There will be trouble in this life, but if you do manage to have it all as some, without Christ and following him in discipleship, the greater part of your life, that in eternity will be facing it without the blessings and rewards of the ‘kingdom of God.’

This is a way of saying ‘Wake up’, also look at the churches in Revelation!

The Kingdom of God, Examples, and Parables!

A few examples of how we must view the Kingdom of God!

Example of the Centurion:’Great faith, many will come and sit down’

Matthew 8:9  For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
10  When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
11  And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.
12  But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
13  And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.

The Example of ‘rejected stone’
Not just the jews rejected him, but today, many do as well. 2 Thess 2

Matthew 21:42  Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
43  Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof

The Example: Parable ‘Treasure hid in a field’
It is not religious, not a religion, not a fade, not just any man, not a teacher, not a prophet,
This is so valuable, it is the most treasured possession we have, even unto death!

Matthew 13:44  ¶Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.

The Example: Parable ‘Goodly Pearls’
The Seeker finds what he is looking for, then gives all to possess it!

Matthew 13:45  Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:
46  Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.
The Example: Parable ‘Kingdom of Heaven like a net’
The surety of reward, they will know us by our fruits! We must be of Christ, in Christ, and doing as he says!

Matthew 13:47  Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:
48  Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away.
49  So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just,
50  And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

The Kingdom of Heaven, The Kingdom of God:

Jesus asked this question and still asks it today!
Why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

Luke 6:46  And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

Persecuted for Son of mans sake!

Love your enemies!
Do good to them that hate you!
Luke 6:27
¶But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,

Bless them that curse you!
Pray for them that use you!
Luke 6:28
Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.

Turn other cheek!
Luke 6:29
And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also.

Loan without expecting them back!
Luke 6:30
Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.

Do unto others as you would have them do to you!
Luke 6:31
And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.

The Example of what the World does!
Luke 6:32
For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.

Luke 6:33
And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.

Luke 6:34
And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.

Luke 6:35
But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.

Be Merciful as your Father!
Luke 6:36
Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.

Be prepared to Give, God will give back in same measure!
Luke 6:38
Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Let the Father judge it is his role, not you, condemn not, forgive always!
Luke 6:37
¶Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven

Luke 6:41
And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

Luke 6:42
Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother’s eye.

There are many teachers, blinded, yet leading people into corruption, but we are follow the LORD!

We will be known by our fruits!
If we indeed have good treasure [the Kingdom of God], we will bring forth good fruit unto God!
If we call him Lord, Lord, we must do as he says!
If we do them, then we have built upon the rock!

Luke 6:43
For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

Luke 6:44
For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.

Luke 6:45
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

Luke 6:46
And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

Luke 6:47
Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:

Luke 6:48
He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.

Luke 6:49
But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.

These are but a few of what the Lord commanded us. Read the gospels, get in his word, and follow what he says to do!

A loving God and keeping his commandments!

The Gospels:
Matthew 5:19  Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 15:9  But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Matthew 22:36  Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37  Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38  This is the first and great commandment.
39  And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40  On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

John 14:15  ¶If ye love me, keep my commandments.

John 14:21  He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

John 15:10  If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.

Some other scriptures pertaining to this:

1 John 5:2  By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
1 John 5:3  For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
1 John 5:4  For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

Revelation 6:9  ¶And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

Revelation 12:11  And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
Revelation 12:17  And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Revelation 13:10  He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

Revelation 14:12  Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Revelation 22:14  Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
